GTel Message Archiver features include:

Capture of all new email

By integrating with the built-in journaling capabilities of email servers, including Microsoft Exchange, the GTel Message Archiver can capture inbound, outbound, and internal emails.  For standards-based email servers that do not support journaling, the GTel Message Archiver can also capture email by acting as an SMTP relay between the email client and email server.

Import of historical email

The GTel Message Archiver supports import of existing email archive files, including Microsoft Outlook PST files, as well as the ability to import email from existing email servers through protocols such as MAPI, IMAP, and POP3.

Indexed Search and Retrieval

Using a thorough list of all message components, emails are fully indexed by message content and attachments.   Auditors or end users can perform quick full-text searches based on message content.  Emails can then be exported or forwarded back to the users’ inbox.

Using role-based security, privileges can be controlled at a granular level.  Individuals can be granted privileges for system administration, access to certain portions of email, content policy administration, and retention policy administration.  The GTel Message Archiver integrates with Active Directory and other LDAP-compatible directory servers.

Compliance and corporate policy monitoring

The GTel Message Archiver enforces standard policies by monitoring and reporting on behaviors, such as use of foul language, transmitting personally identifying information, usage of corporate email for personal use, as well as providing customizable policies to monitor use of user-defined keywords and phrases. Upon commencement of service, customers can immediately use the built-in policies or leverage new policy definition updates delivered by GTel Energize Updates to begin monitoring policy violations and create an audit trail of relevant email messages.

Litigation readiness and e-discovery process

By using the powerful searching capabilities, auditors and email administrators can easily sort through an email archive to compile relevant messages based on keywords, dates and sender/recipients into an exported file. Access records and related policy violations can also be readily compiled and delivered to legal counsel as requested for e-discovery purposes.
